How Can I Help You?

Statement

Date: Dec. 13, 2010
Location: Washington, DC

As your Representative in Congress, it is my job to represent your voice in Washington and support legislative initiatives that will strengthen our community. In addition to this work, there are many other ways that I can help Fourth District residents with issues related to the federal government.

One of the most important responsibilities I have as a Representative is to help constituents with problems they may encounter with federal government agencies. My office has helped thousands of Kentuckians and I look forward to helping thousands more. My staff and I stand ready and willing to assist you with any questions you may have about anything from Medicare and Social Security to IRS questions and veterans benefits. For additional information on the many ways we can help, visit http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/help/.

Recently, I hosted a telephone town hall, along with Medicare experts, dedicated to assisting seniors with questions regarding their Medicare benefits. Nearly 10,000 seniors joined this call and many were able to ask the Medicare experts questions about their benefits or simply listen in to hear what the experts had to say about the Open Enrollment Period. The Open Enrollment Period continues through December 31st. If you have a question about your Medicare benefits, please call my Ft. Mitchell office at (859) 426-0080 for assistance.

It is my goal to always be accessible and accountable to the people I represent. You may know that I have five offices across the district in Fort Mitchell, Williamstown, La Grange, Ashland, and Maysville to provide you with convenient access to congressional services. Realizing that it can be difficult for some constituents in the Fourth District to make it to one of our district offices, I have asked my staff members to come to you on a regular basis.

Each month, a member of my staff holds open office hours in every county throughout the Fourth District. No appointments are necessary. This is an opportunity to meet personally and address any questions or problems you may have. To find out when a field representative will be in your county next, please visit http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/HelpDesk/.

There is still a great deal of work to be done to create policies that will get unemployed Kentuckians back to work, cut spending and reduce the size and scope of the federal government. Every week, I send out an e-mail newsletter to keep constituents informed about events in the Fourth District and in Washington, D.C. To receive my e-newsletter, please sign up at http://GeoffDavis.house.gov or call any of our offices and a staff member will assist you.

Another way to stay engaged is through telephone town hall meetings. These calls are a great way to learn more about the issues going on in Congress and my position on them. On these free calls, you can ask me questions live on the call or just listen in with your neighbors. If you would like to participate in one of our upcoming telephone town hall meetings, please sign-up by visiting http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/TTH or calling any of my offices.

It is an honor to serve the Fourth District of Kentucky and I always appreciate hearing your ideas, solutions, thoughts and concerns. I encourage Kentuckians to visit my website to speak out with your ideas, questions or for help with the federal government. To send me an email, schedule a meeting or to contact one of my offices near you, please call (859) 426-0080 or visit my website at http://GeoffDavis.house.gov.
